Two children were injured on Friday in a mysterious explosion in a waste dump.

The blast took place in a dust bin in Sector 12 when the children were searching the garbage, Senior Superintendent of Police (Noida) R K Chaturvedi said.

Yuvraj Singh punishes England.

England were in deep trouble against as they lost seven wickets at 150 runs in the first ODI at the Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Ground in Rajkot on Friday.

England lost their second wicket in quick succession as Owais Shah was dismissed. Shah edged Zaheer Khan's delivery only to be caught by Virender Sehwag at slips. After 5 overs, England were 17/2.

Earlier, Yuvraj Singh hammered an unbeaten 138 runs to help India post a mammoth total of 387/5 in 50 overs against England. Yuvraj's power-hitting included 16 fours and 6 sixes.

Former minister Ajit Panja passes away

Former Union Minister and senior Trinamool Congress leader Ajit Panja died early on Friday morning at a private hospital in Kolkata. Panja had cancer of the mouth, which had spread to other parts of his body. He was 72 and had been in hospital since October 26.

A six-time MP, Panja was a minister in the governments of Rajiv Gandhi, P V Narasimha Rao and Atal Bihari Vajpayee and held key portfolios including information and broadcasting.

Yuvraj Singh smashed an unbeaten 138 off just 78 balls as India posted their highest one-day total against England of 387-5 in the first game of their seven-match series here on Friday.

The left-hander, who batted with a runner due to a back injury in the early part of his innings, hammered 16 boundaries and six sixes after England elected to field at the Madhavrao Scindia stadium.

First days for an opposition captain in India don't get much worse. Kevin Pietersen's decision to field because of an early morning start in Rajkot backfired spectacularly as India galloped out of the blocks and never looked back. What seemed a brave decision turned into an utter disaster with India posting 387 for 5 in 50 overs of ballistic strokeplay. Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag added 127 for the first wicket, after which Yuvraj Singh overcame a stiff back to slam an unbeaten 138 from only 78 balls. It was the fastest ODI hundred against England, while India's total beat the previous best against this team - Pakistan's 353 in Karachi in 2005. It was also India's best total at home and second highest anywhere.

Dostana is no BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN. It's not a serious take on homosexuality either. On the contrary, it's a madcap comedy where two straight men pretend to be gays. Although Dostana is a mainstream commercial film, it dares to push the envelope in its own way. It brings homosexuality out of the closet, gives it respect and dignity and doesn't treat gays as 'abnormal'.
